Flensburger Gold - Review

So, first review... Here we go

First of all Flensburger Gold comes with a flip top, like the old school Grolsch. It did do that lovely shh-pop. Loved it as it was something you rarely get now.

It smells quite malty from pouring and hovering my nose over the top.

The first sip, for me it completes the 'ahh' test. You know when it you look back at the glass as in to say 'well played, great stuff'. The taste is light definitely something you could session without feeling too gassy, a characteristic that is typical of good German lagers. With it being 4.8% it's coming towards the stronger range fo lagers.

Kept its head quite well until the end. Lots of bubbles and consistent fizz which I personally prefer.

Excuse the background bits!

Reading a write up the brewery has access to a very high quality water source in Scandinavia which you can takeaway from the cleanness of the lager when drinking. Not something all breweries can boast!

Reviewed with Kettle Chips Bacon flavour in a schooner glass, if you're interested.

Overall I liked this one a lot, just not in that upper tier of beers you would call favourites. It is very clean, has good maltiness to it definitely a premium beer. I would give it 7.5/10, I would buy again.

Good job Flensburger.
